Welcome to the 4th episode of my legacy project, Urban Lifestyle Report Podcast and I'm your host Carolyn Morris-Walker. Can I tell you how absolutely delighted I am to have Elizabeth (Dori) Tunstall, the first Black female dean of a faculty of design anywhere in the WORLD as my guest on this platform that exemplifies BlackNificence & Black Excellence in our community.
It's a place and space to showcase the many talents of Black and African people who are often invisible, not acknowledged and not celebrated in popular media for their talents, achievements and accomplishments that contributes positively to the community. Elizabeth (Dori) Tunstall is a design anthropologist, public intellectual, and design advocate who works at the intersections of critical theory, culture, and design. As Dean of Design at Ontario College of Art and Design University, she leads the Cultures-Based Innovation Initiative focused on using old ways of knowing to drive innovation processes that directly benefit communities.

My guest today is the phenomenal Kimani Peter who is a social entrepreneur, designer and founder of the LOUD.army. He studied Industrial Design at Carleton University and went on to receive his Bachelor's of Design at OCAD University. He started his first business at 20 and believes that entrepreneurship is empowering in the way it allows people to create opportunities for themselves. It's for that reason he seeks to inspire and support entrepreneurial thinking in others especially those from marginalized backgrounds. Listen in and enjoy the conversation!
